                  Laminating Machine

Film coating is a processing technology that covers the surface of printed materials with a plastic film coated with adhesive, and then undergoes heating and pressure treatment to bond the plastic film and printed materials together, forming a paper/plastic integrated product.


Printed products coated with plastic film have a smooth and shiny surface due to the addition of a thin and transparent plastic film, which improves the glossiness and fastness of the printed products. The graphic and text colors are more vivid and three-dimensional, while also playing a role in waterproofing, stain resistance, wear resistance, folding resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, etc.
When the film covered by the laminating machine is not easily pulled apart by mechanical tension, it is necessary to use a sensor to detect the overlapping edge of the two layers of paper and cut it open with a knife. At the red circle in the picture above, the transmitter and receiver are installed facing each other. When there is no paper during normal startup operation, one green light of the sensor stays on and one red light flashes. The missing signal D2 has an output. When the paper enters, a green light comes on and a red light comes on. When the overlapping edge of two layers of paper is detected, two green lights are on, and the label/splicing signal D1 is output. Only the label/splicing signal D1 (black line) is used here. When the edge overlap is detected, the switch D1 is activated, and the PLC starts counting the encoder pulses. When the corresponding pulse of the set paper length is reached, the cutting mechanical device is controlled to operate and cut open the edge overlap of the two sheets of paper.
