Functional Operation

This isolated barrier is engineered for intrinsic safety applications, transferring DC signals from fire alarms and smoke alarms from hazardous areas to non-hazardous areas. The device also supports control of I/P converters, valves, indicators, and audible alarms.

Reverse polarity protection safeguards against damage from wiring errors, while the loop-powered design eliminates the need for additional power supply connections on the control side.

Application Scenarios

Circuit Isolation: Used for isolating circuits to control positioners, I/P converters, and similar equipment. A current source is connected to terminals in the non-explosion-hazardous area.

Current Signal Isolation: Provides isolation for current signals from fire detectors and similar sensors. A voltage source connects to terminals in the non-explosion-hazardous area, with specific measurement current across passive sensors measured using a series resistor (minimum 50 Ω).
